A corner desk turns the unused angle of a room into the main work zone. You get two surfaces in reach — one for the screen, one for paperwork — without taking a second straight desk’s worth of floor.

Who a corner desk is for

Corner desks suit people who run more than one task at the same surface: dual monitors on one leg, files or a printer on the other. They also suit small rooms where a long straight desk would block a walkway, including many home offices.

They are a poor fit if you move desks often, or if the two walls from the corner are shorter than the desk. Measure both walls before you order.

What size corner desk do you need?

The two numbers are the length of each leg, measured from the corner.

1500 x 1500mm — home office or a single screen plus notes. You need about 1.5m of clear wall on each side.
1800 x 1800mm — dual monitors on one side and paperwork or a visitor space on the other. You need about 1.8m each way.
Deeper returns (700–800mm) — more room behind the keyboard and a better viewing distance for larger screens.
P-end workstations — a straight run with a rounded meeting end, useful when someone sits with you at the desk.

Leave space behind the chair. A desk that fits the walls but traps the seat is the wrong size.

Left hand or right hand

Some desks are symmetrical and can face either way. Others are handed.

Stand in the corner facing out. If the longer return should sit on your left, you want a left-hand desk. If it should sit on your right, you want a right-hand desk. Check the product page — Oki 1700 models are handed; many 1500 and 1800 equal-leg desks are not.

What to check before you order

Wall length — measure both walls from the corner, then subtract a little for skirting and clearance
Chair swing — you still need room to push back
Cable path — two legs means cables can pile up in the corner; look for ports, scallops or an under-desk basket
Top and edge — 25mm commercial board and proper edge banding last longer than thin residential tops
Finish match — if you already have Oki, Sonic, Delta or Cubit straight desks, stay in the same family

It is better when you need two work zones and have a free corner. A straight office desk is simpler to place and usually costs less. Choose by the room, not by the name.

What size corner desk fits a home office?

Most home rooms take a 1500 x 1500. Measure both walls first. An 1800 x 1800 will dominate a spare bedroom. See home office desks if you want the smaller home-focused set.

Do I need a left-hand or right-hand desk?

Only if the two legs are different lengths or the return is fixed to one side. Equal 1500 or 1800 desks usually work either way. Handed models are marked LH or RH on the product page.
