What size office desk do you need?

Measure the wall run and leave space to pull a chair out. As a rule:

• 1200mm — laptop or single screen, smaller rooms, hot-desking
• 1500mm — everyday commercial desk; one screen plus notes or a phone
• 1800mm — dual monitors, shared paperwork, or a more senior workstation
• 2000mm — wide single desks where the room can take it

If two people will sit opposite each other, look at the Anvil double-sided systems rather than lining up two separate desks. For a return off one end, use the corner desks range.

Desks for home offices

Plenty of these desks go into spare rooms and apartments as well as commercial floors. If you are fitting one room at home, start with a 1200 or 1500 straight desk. Pair it with an office chair that tucks under the top. Larger 1800 desks and bench systems are usually overkill at home unless you are running two screens and a lot of paper.

Specs that matter on a commercial desk

Look past the photo.

• Top thickness — 25mm commercial board holds up better than thin residential tops
• Edge — PVC or similar banding so the rim does not chip in the first year
• Frame — steel that does not rack when someone leans on a corner
• Cable path — scallops, ports or under-desk baskets so power does not drape off the back
• Warranty — commercial cover on the frame and top, not a 12-month retail sticker

What size office desk do most NZ offices buy?

1500mm and 1800mm are the usual commercial widths. Use 1200mm where the room is tight or the desk is for short sessions.

Do these desks come with chairs?

No. Desks and chairs are quoted separately so you can match the task. See office chairs.

Can I get a height-adjustable desk here?

Do you supply desks in bulk for a fit-out?

Yes. Large orders are quoted with volume pricing and a delivery plan. Tell us the site — Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or further out — and the number of workstations.

Are the desks NZ made?

Some ranges are made here (Delta is the clear example). Others are quality imported commercial frames. Each product page states origin and warranty.

How long does delivery take?

Stock desks are typically a week or so once the quote is confirmed. Made-to-order finishes take longer. Lead time is on the product page or the quote.
