Electric Standing Desks NZ
An electric standing desk raises and lowers at the button so you can sit and stand in the same workday. This page is only motorised sit-stand desks — fixed straight desks, corner workstations, trolleys and reception counters stay in their own ranges.

Why offices buy a sit-stand desk
Most people do not stand all day. They change height a few times so the hips and back are not locked in one position. That is the point of an electric frame: you keep the same monitors and the same chair, and you move the top instead of the person.
A fixed desk is still the right buy when budget, simplicity or a short-term room matter more than height change. Those are on office desks.
What to check on an electric desk
- Height range — the top should go low enough to sit with shoulders relaxed and high enough to stand with the screen near eye line. Check the range on each product page; frames differ.
- Motors — dual-motor frames stay level under two monitors and a desktop PC better than a light single-motor home frame.
- Load rating — add the top, screens, arms and anything else that sits on the desk. Stay under the stated capacity.
- Speed and noise — commercial frames move in the 20–35mm per second range and should not chatter every time someone changes height in an open office.
- Controller — memory presets save the sit height and stand height so staff are not guessing twice a day.
- Anti-collision — useful under a window sill, pedestal or sloped floor.
- Warranty split — frame cover is often longer than the motor cover. Read both.
What size standing desk do you need?
Widths follow the same logic as a fixed desk.
- 1200mm — laptop or one screen, compact rooms, home offices
- 1500mm — the usual single workstation
- 1600–1800mm — dual monitors or a wider commercial station
Depth of 700–800mm keeps the screen off your chest when you stand. If you need an L-shape that also moves, use a standing workstation in this range, not a fixed corner desk.
Pair the desk with a chair that still works at sitting height. A good office chair matters as much as the frame.

Home office or commercial floor
The same frame can go in either place. For a spare room, a 1200 or 1500 and the Malmo or Haven single desk is usually enough — see home office desks for the smaller set. For an office floor, specify load rating, memory controller and warranty before you match the finish across a row of desks.
We supply NZ-made tops on selected frames and quality imported electric bases, ship nationwide, and quote bulk sit-stand fit-outs. Add the desk to a quote and we come back the same day in most cases.
How to order

Electric standing desks NZ — frequently asked questions
Is an electric desk better than a manual crank desk?
Electric is easier to use several times a day, which is when people actually change height. A crank desk is cheaper and has no motor to service. If the desk will be used all day, electric is the usual commercial choice.
Will a standing desk fix back pain?
It can reduce time locked in one posture. It will not fix a bad chair, a screen that sits too low, or a day with no breaks. Set sit height and stand height properly, and keep a decent chair.
How much weight will the desk take?
It depends on the frame. Check the load rating on the product page and count monitors, arms and a desktop tower if it sits on the top. Do not treat the rating as optional.
Do I need a standing desk converter instead?
A desktop converter sits on a fixed desk and lifts the screen and keyboard only. It is a cheaper trial. A full electric desk replaces the workstation. Converters, if you stock them, are a different product to the desks on this page.
Can I use this desk at home?
Yes. Pick a 1200 or 1500 unless you have a dedicated room. The home office desks page has the shorter home-focused list.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. Delivery runs across New Zealand, including Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Lead time is on the product page or the quote.
